Our Core Values for learning and teaching
Our "Kids First" concept is based on our 8 core values.
We contribute to nurturing kids in early childhood through our theme,
"Thinking & Acting by themselves" and "developing life skill".
Children have the power to bring out infinite creativity and potential from even the smallest of things.
When they find a small nut, they sing a song and count the number of nuts. They can associate cute leaves with animals, or imagine the smell of the fruit that lies within. Coco-Ro is a place that was created with this in mind, to provide an environment where children's spontaneous "awareness" and creativity can expand infinitely.
Coco-Ro provides a place where children can expand their way of seeing, thinking, and feeling through painting and modeling, seasonal activities, and cultural events, while nurturing their imagination. We encourage children to see their own expression as an irreplaceable activity, to value the process rather than the result, and to cultivate a foundation for self-establishment and objectivity in recognizing others.
We aim to cultivate a sense of self-esteem and a foundation for the formation of a personality that can express itself well in a variety of fields.
At Coco-Ro, we have a large indoor space that we use like a garden for free play.
Through play, your child will develop a sense of balance, which is important in early childhood, as well as the ability to move their limbs and develop their body and brain functions.
We also plan outdoor play on a regular basis. Let’s play with outdoor sports as much as possible, and also lay the foundation for understanding sports with rules. This will help develop communication skills and cooperation. Challenge them to play with balls, jumping boxes, bars, mat exercises, rhythmic exercises, and dance to maintain a healthy body. Don't worry if you can't do it at first. But by practicing together and experiencing a sense of accomplishment, you will experience the importance of making an effort so that you can do it someday.
Japanese Style Education
Through Japanese discipline and a sense of morality, we work on emotional education that nurtures a Japanese identity and fosters a rich imagination and intellectual curiosity. We value free play time and encourage children to engage in their favorite activities, and to gain a lot of experience by interacting with their friends. We sing songs and read many books every day, and focus on developing the foundation for the children to acquire the ability to think and express their feelings in proper Japanese.
We learn about Japanese culture through the importance of seasonal events too.
Every day there are situations where we need to communicate in English. Let's develop the ability to communicate what you need and how you feel in English without straining. Classes for the younger children and above will have a homeroom teacher who teaches in English.
We combine an immersion program where daily activities are conducted in English by the English homeroom teacher and classes taught by a full-time teacher who familiarizes the children with English through phonics, songs, and games, creating an environment where they can naturally become familiar with English.
We also read a lot of English books. We will also focus on teaching them to be adaptable to the option of choosing an English environment when they enter elementary school.
